Every so often, users are prompted to reauthenticate through Cisco Clean Access. We do this for the security of our network, to make sure you have the latest updateds and to make sure that if your computer is lost or stolen, unauthorized users cannot use your system to browse our network.
Below are the current timeout settings for our network.
- 15 minutes after network disconnection (either through loss of service or sleeping/powered down system) - this resets your session with the server in the event you power off your system and move from one location on the network to another. It also prevents lost of stolen devices from accessing the network by non-authrorized users.
- 3 days of continued use for employee or student accounts (via "Rockhurst" provider) - if your system is online and connected to the network consistantly this will automatically require you to reauthenticate and perform update assessment checks.
- 8 hours of continued use for guest accounts. (via "Local DB" )
- 2 hours of limited access for authenticated systems awaiting system updates - if you need longer then this time, you'll need to reauthenticate to continue downloading Windows or McAfee updates.
